the art of chiropractic care

Chiropractic is a healing art. The art is how a chiropractors adjustment is delivered by hand to specifically realign and balance your spine. There are several chiropractic adjusting techniques. Some chiropractic techniques are diversified; Gonstead, chiropractic biophysics and activator just to name a few. The techniques are delivered through the chiropractors hand to your spine. The style, method, body positions (setup), healing presence and delivery of a chiropractors adjustment is an Art. The purpose of the adjustment is to make your nervous system work optimally so your body functions in harmony.

Moving spinal bones to improve people’s health is nothing new. Dating as far back as the Egyptian civilization, crude movements of the spine were done to help sick people improve their health. In England, starting in the 1600’s, there were bone setters who understood better spinal alignment helped sick people get well.

Chiropractic art was born in 1895 when D.D. Palmer adjusted Harvey Lilard a black janitor who was deaf and who regained his hearing. Dr. Palmer was the first to use specific spinal contacts to move specific bones in a specific direction. The art of chiropractic was born. Dr. Palmer also understood that misaligned spinal bones choking nerves blocked the vital nerve flow to various organs causing disease, sickness and pain. By adjusting these misaligned spinal bones (subluxations) the normal nerve flow was returned. Normal nerve flow allows your body to function optimally, reduces/eliminates pain and greatly reduces sicknesses and disease.
